    SYNOPSIS :

Open All Hours returns to our screens 28 years after the first series. This warm-hearted sitcom sees Sir David Jason reprise his role as Granville who has inherited the corner shop from his beloved but miserly Uncle Arkwright.

Now running the business with his cheerful and good-looking son, Leroy (James Baxter) – the result of a brief romantic encounter a couple of decades ago – Granville continues to serve the locals with a keen eye on a clever profit, from familiar and new faces including Nurse Gladys Emmanuel (Lynda Baron), the formidable Mrs Featherstone (Stephanie Cole), and pessimistic Wet Eric (Johnny Vegas). He is also still trying to woo the lovely Mavis (Maggie Ollerenshaw), who is now under the watchful eye of her fearsome sister Madge (Brigit Forsyth), and Granville tries to find a way through with help from his neighbour, Gastric (Tim Healy).

    DISC 1 – SERIES ONE

Series one sees Sir David Jason reprise his role as Granville who has inherited the corner shop from his beloved but miserly Uncle Arkwright. He’s now running the business with his cheerful and good-looking son Leroy, who was the result of a whirlwind romance one night in Blackpool twenty odd years ago. The poor lad has never really met his mother and Granville does his best to keep it that way.

Granville continues to serve the locals with a keen eye on a clever profit from familiar and new faces including Nurse Gladys Emmanuel, the formidable Mrs Featherstone and pessimistic Wet Eric. He is also still trying to woo the lovely Mavis who is now under the watchful eye of her fearsome sister Madge, and Granville tries to find a way through with help from his new neighbour, Gastric.

    Includes the 2013 Christmas Episode

    DISC 2 – SERIES TWO

Sir David Jason returns for a second series of Roy Clarke’s much-loved sitcom, reprising his role as

Granville running the shop with his son Leroy, and continuing to serve the locals with a keen and inventive eye on a profit.

Over the series, beginning with a Christmas episode, Granville is still being frustrated in his courtship of the forgetful Mavis by her formidable sister, Madge. He is sure however, that under Gastric’s noisy stomach lies a man that would be deeply attractive to Madge and could distract her from his wooing of Mavis. Can he get them together?

There’s more romance with Mrs Featherstone who has her eye on a new local, Mr Newbold but can she surrender her desire for Granville? Elsewhere, Nurse Gladys has a new job to keep her occupied and Mrs Hussein is always full of local gossip. Eric and Cyril are always in trouble with their wives but luckily, they have Granville to sell them a solution.

    DISC 3 – SERIES THREE

Arkwright’s, the nation’s favourite corner shop opens its doors again for series three of Roy Clarke’s follow up to Open All Hours.

The series begins with a Christmas special where Granville and Gastric find themselves playing marriage counsellors and Kath attempts to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

In other episodes Granville finds ever more ingenious ways to winkle out a small profit from customers like the ever-gullible Cyril, and Granville’s courtship of Mavis continues with more fish and chip dinners and trips out in Gastric’s mini, but he’s got to keep an eye out for Mrs Featherstone who doesn’t seem quite satisfied with Mr Newbold, her current candidate for the position of husband number four…

Meanwhile Granville’s son, Leroy still yearns for a delivery vehicle that won’t spoil his success with dating; love-sick Gastric, full of heart but low on grey matter, is still trying to impress Mavis’s formidable sister Madge; local gossip Mrs Hussein continues her quest to catch Leroy’s eye; and arch pessimist Eric is still looking for improvements in his own married life, which takes a turn for the worse when a mystery woman starts asking for him round the neighbourhood…

    Includes the 2016 Christmas Special

    DISC 4 – SERIES FOUR

The series begins with a Christmas special where Granville still has his sights set on romance with Mavis, but Madge has ideas about moving away. Mr Newbold is also thinking of doing a runner, leaving Granville at the mercy of Mrs Featherstone who continues to pursue the canny grocer while keeping Mr Newbold as first reserve!

In other episodes Granville has a new idea for growing the business – he’s offering fitness classes, but can he really turn Gastric into a greyhound to impress Madge? Eric and Cyril’s quest for fitness finds them in some very uncomfortable Lycra on a bicycle made for two. We hear about Mrs Featherstone’s “exotic past” and Mr Newbold has an image make-over.

Mrs Hussein continues to flirt with Leroy, who has fallen for a vegan librarian Beth, but she’s reluctant to date a “meat eater”. Gastric discovers he has an artistic side and Kath gets a big surprise when Eric returns home from a night out. A trip to Scarborough presents Granville with an opportunity to combine business with pleasure when Mavis invites him for lunch in a seaside hotel; back at the shop Leroy is in sole charge for the day – he’s keen and full of confidence, so what could possibly go wrong?

There are more hair-brained schemes and unlikely products than you could shake a boiled ham at, and of course the unpredictable snapping jaws of the till.

    DISC 5 – SERIES FIVE

Granville still has his sights set on romance with Mavis, and Madge is giving Gastric more attention these days, but that could be because she’s impressed with his invention skills.

The Black Widow is keeping her options open in the pursuit of Granville and Mr Newbold. Does she have competition in the shape of Mrs Rossi? Meanwhile, Leroy attempts to get Beth to dump her childhood sweetheart and enlists her best friend Ruby to help with his plan. Eric and Cyril try to impress their wives when they try various sporting activities, but still find time to get in touch with their artistic side.

An oversize balloon wreaks havoc, and Arkwright’s shop continues to offer more unlikely products and barmy schemes than you could shake a Yorkshire pudding at. And of course, Granville still must contend with the unpredictable snapping jaws of the till.

    Includes Christmas 2018 Episode

    DISC 6 – SERIES SIX

It’s all on offer this series! Eric and Cyril go camping and find the excitement is in tents. Gastric is ready to diet for love, and Mrs Rossi and Mr Newbold find romance among the rigatoni. There are Mrs Featherstone’s driving lessons of doom, a dog whispering sweet nothings, a bicycle ride full of surprises and all sorts of interesting uses for a mangle.

Then in the Christmas Special, Kath won’t stand for French custard, and Granville tries to put the magic into Christmas but things don’t go quite to plan. All in all, there are more money-making schemes than you can shake a curly kipper at, and of course, the snapping jaws of that famous till.

    Includes the 2019 Christmas Episode
